Upon arriving in Melide, pause midway to the Santiago de Compostela airport, to unwind at your hotel. Treat yourself to a delightful dinner, commemorating the day's journey on the Camino de Santiago, as you prepare for the continuation of your pilgrimage.
Day 5
Start your day with breakfast before setting out from Melide to Arzúa on the Camino. Enjoy the picturesque landscapes along the way and the charm of the villages. Upon reaching Arzúa, settle into your hotel or cottage for a well-deserved dinner, reflecting on the day's journey.
DAY 6
Fuel up with a satisfying breakfast before beginning your journey from Arzúa to O Pedrouzo. Traverse the scenic countryside, immersing yourself in the beauty of the Camino path. DAY 7
Begin your final day of trekking with a nourishing breakfast before setting off from O Pedrouzo towards Santiago de Compostela. As you embark on the last leg of your journey, cherish the memories and experiences accumulated along the Camino path. Upon arriving at Santiago de Compostela, bask in the sense of accomplishment as you reach your final destination. Take a moment to absorb the sights and sounds of this historic city, culminating your pilgrimage at Plaza del Obradoiro and the majestic Cathedral, where the tomb of Santiago the Apostle awaits.
After climbing the steps of the cathedral, take in the awe-inspiring Pórtico de la Gloria and join the line to embrace the saint on the main Altar (from 9:30 to 13:30 and from 16:00 to 19:30). Descend to the final destination, the Tomb of Santiago the Apostle (from 7:00 to 20:30). Other classic rituals include attending the Pilgrims’ Mass at 12:00 noon, tapping the statue of Maestro Mateo with your head, believed to increase intelligence.
Afterwards, you can head to the Pilgrim’s Office at Rúa das Cartas, 33, near the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos. Here, you'll complete a form, and obtain the Compostela, validating your Camino de Santiago journey.
